Description: | Mikromidas is a current Norwegian band that recovers the Seventies-styled Progressive Folk-Rock characteristics of KVAZAR, the languid Mellotron of ANEKDOTEN, the melancholic atmospheres of ANGLAGARD, the tortured guitar of LANDWERK and the listenability of ZELLO. a real digest of what Scandinavia offered US in the Nineties with a Seventies touch worthy of KAIPA. Native of Stavanger, the band comes to birth in 1995 with bassist-singer Atle BYE, drummer Rune FORSELV, guitarist Halvard JACOBSEN, keyboardist Oysten LARSEN, the second six-string player Stale Roar LEIRTRO. "Brennende Drommer" is an excellent, sophisticated Progressive Rock album, though melodic and accessible. One of the main characteristics of Mikromidas is to sing exclusively in it's mother tongue, which makes it appear as the real successor of KERRS PINK. After four long years comes eventually a second opus, the excellent "Faunus". It features a more accomplished music, full of melodies and emotions. |
